1. Make it Into a Planter
   Carefully dig out the stump's center with an ax or other tool to a depth of four to eight inches, leaving at least a three-inch border around the edges. Drill a few holes in the newly created "planter" for drainage.
   
   Then, add potting soil and plant your favorite plants, and you're done. You can plant anything from spring bulbs to annuals, ground covers to trailing plants, and a combination of plants. If you want the plants to thrive, keep the location conditions in mind.

   You can use the stump as the base of a table.
